Getting started in competitive shooting 

The hardest part about getting started in competitive shooting is going to your first match. At our rang you will find all of competitors and competitions very welcoming to new shooters. 

At each  of these shoots you will find all skill levels of competitors from beginners to seasoned competitors. 

You should have an understanding of how your firearms work and be able to safely use them.

Each discipline has it own rules and equipment requirements so it is wise to read up on the rules before attending a match. 

Basic equipment requirements are hearing and eye protection and for:

 

Rimfire challenge you will need a semiautomatic 22LR rifle and pistol, a soft case and 5 magazines per gun.

USPSA and Steel Challenge pistol or revolver a holster and mag pouches. If shooting a Pistol Caliber Carbine mag pouches. You will need 3 to 4 magazines.

Cowboy Action Shooting you will need a pistol caliber lever action rifle, two single action pistols a double barrel shotgun or a model 97 shotgun. 

NRL22 you will need a semiautomatic or bolt action 22LR rifle.
